Meeting METRO re Bus Station Morley Borough Independent Councillors are to meet with Officers of the West Yorkshire Transport Executive (METRO) to discuss the provision of a Bus Station in Morley. |
|
The Meeting will take in the next fortnight and will focus on the proposal that a Bus Station be created in Morley Town Centre. Suggestions have been made that the top end of Peel Street be used as a drop off and collection point to service Morley Town Centre. Improvements for Morley Train Station are also on the agenda, as the Station should be accessible to disabled users and those with Pushchairs etc. Currently the Huddersfield bound platform is difficult if not impossible to access for people with mobility issues. Commenting on the meeting Councillor Tom Leadley, who will shortly take a seat on the board of METRO said " As a regular user of Public Transport, I know only too well the issues faced by travellers. This meeting will commence dialogue between METRO and the Morley Councillors on what we feel is needed in Morley. We need to have accessible public transport for all to use and at the moment that is not happening." |
